It’s Jani here,😊 your intuitive guide from Tarot Reading London,
with November’s video Tarot energy reading with a Halloween message for the month ahead.
So today is Halloween and the perfect day of the year to be sending a newsletter from Tarot Reading London central here in Twickenham.
In Tarot and other eosoteric traditions, we know Halloween as a Celtic festival (exactly like Christmas originally ‘Yule’ and Easter originally ‘Ēostre’) called ‘Samhain’ (pronounced sow-in).
Halloween feels like a thing for children these days, a fun reason to buy buckets of eyeball sweets and have a creepy themed party, but the ancient festival of ‘Samhain’ was an important event that marked the end of summer, the harvest and the onset of the darker, colder winter months. This was a time of year that was also often associated with human vulnerability and of course, death.
The Celts believed that on this night, the boundary between the worlds of the living and the dead became blurred and the ghosts of the dead returned to earth, this made it easier for the Druids (Celtic priests), to make predictions about the future.
To commemorate the event, they would built huge sacred bonfires, where the people gathered to burn crops and animals as sacrifices to the Celtic deities. To honour the celebration, the Celts wore costumes, typically consisting of animal heads and skins, and attempted to tell each other’s fortunes.
A lot like many of the Halloween parties I’ve been invited to read at over the years – tee hee!
There certainly is something different about this time of year though, as the seasons shift from autumn into a much more wintery feel. As we wait for the next installment of our journey through the Covid chapter, perhaps we might allow ourselves to feel a little closer to our Celtic ancestors, feeling very much at the mercy of whatever nature brings forth.
Perhaps it turns out we’re not so different these days after all. They too asked for predictions and guidance from the spirits as a way of finding clarity about the path ahead. We too, are being asked to make sacrifices to try and gain back control from the natural world. Thankfully our sacrifices are all personal and no roosters need run for cover in this particular instant.
Seriously though, as we all try and stay safe we are having to face our vulnerabilities and make important decisions about our very survival both as a species and as individuals.
So in Samhain/Halloween tradition, let’s take a moment to honour our ancesters and actively welcome and bless the spirits of our loved ones who have passed, especially now during this Covid crisis. They have gone ahead but are still waiting for us. Nothing scary or spooky, just the way it is!
My reading this month was also very in tune with the seasonally darker days, Opening with The Tower, it’s clear that once again, we are going to find ourselves challenged this coming month. It’s important to bear in mind this is all a process, nothing stays the same and as we progress though the present landscape the scenery will change and we will keep moving forward. There’s so much uncertainly in the energy field out there it’s almost palpable, Novembers reading gives us hope though, that while not evident right now, we are on the right path. I hope it’s interesting and useful as a head-up, as we progress through the month ahead!
So I’m always here if you need a reading, for reassurance or clarity or just support!
Thank you for allowing me to share my thoughts with you on this blustery Halloween night,
Lots of love and looking forward to reading for you soon,😊
